Taoyuan County is short listed of the top 100 tea counties in China

At the 16th annual meeting of China's tea industry economy, Taoyuan County was short listed as one of the top 100 counties in China's tea industry, ranking 30th in China.

As the economic wind vane and barometer of China's tea industry, the annual meeting of China's tea industry economy will select the "top 100" and "top 10" and other most authoritative lists of the national tea industry, so as to show the development achievements of tea industry in various regions and tea producing regions of the country. The results represent the overall development level of China's tea industry at present, which will be an important basis for industry promotion, credit rating and brand selection in the future.

Taoyuan has a long history of tea production, rich tea resources, solid industrial foundation, known as Jiangnan tea town.

At present, the county has 186000 mu of tea gardens, 65000 tons of tea production and processing, 2.7 billion yuan of comprehensive output value of tea, 18 registered trademarks, 25 three products and one standard certification, and 3 National Gold lettered signboards. It is one of the top ten counties in Hunan tea industry with 100 billion yuan, the base county of Hunan black tea production technology protection, and Taoyuan black tea among the top ten famous teas in Hunan. From 2012 to 2017, it was rated as a key tea producing county in China; Since 2018, it has become one of the top 100 counties in China's tea industry.
