Test principle
Hydrogen peroxide is a colorless,
odorless liquid, added to food in
biodegradable release oxygen to effect
bleaching, antiseptic and deodorant and
so on.
Hydrogen peroxide of sample residual can
rapidly react with the reagents to
produce specific reaction. When the
residue is low, the reagent react yellow
color, and residues is high, the
reaction was orange. Formaldehyde does
not react with this reagent, no color
change. The concentration of hydrogen
peroxide are higher, the color deeper.
Fish out the minimum limit of this
method, aqueous solution of 10mg/kg,
directly applied to samples of 20mg/kg.
Application
It is Widely used to detect various
types of food in the hydrogen peroxide
(hydrogen peroxide) levels: 1. marine
products (dry goods, fresh produce and
water in food): such as shrimp, octopus
and squid, beef blinds, jellyfish ,
dried shrimps powder, skin, water,

Test steps:
1. Aquatic products and water in food:
the general field of aquatic and
water-fat foods all have the percolate
or soak, can use the 0.5ml straw
directly to draw exudate 0.5ml (about
10-12 drops) added to the hole of porous
colorimetric tube, then dropping to 2
drops in the hole of the test liquid,
mixing to observe the color change.
2. other food: take small samples in the
plastic cup (about l / 3 cup), try to
cut it into pieces, then add the same
amount of distilled water or purified
water, soak 10-20 minutes, draw the
0.5ml straw to soaked with 0.5ml liquid
(about 10-12 drops) added to the hole of
porous colorimetric color tube, then
dropping to 2 drops in the hole of the
test fluid mixing to observe the color
change.
3. The light color solid samples can
also cut a small sample, the sample cut
in the cross-section drops 4 drops of
test solution to observe the
cross-section of the color change.
Results judgment
If the reaction solution after 1 minute
or section does not change color,
indicating that the samples were not
polluted by high concentrations of
hydrogen peroxide. If the results of
solution or reaction or cross-section of
the color is yellow to orange, the
samples were polluted by hydrogen
peroxide. The deeper the color, said
hydrogen peroxide content is higher.
Announcement
1. Reagent sealed after use should be
tightened, in the refrigerator or a cool
dry place away from light.
2. All experiments should use distilled
water or purified water;
3. After each use, rinse lab ware
applications for more than three times,
then steam after washing with distilled
water or pure dry spare.
